Today’s “Haven’s Happenstance” #song - “The Soothing Oldies Series:” “California Dreamin’” by The Mama’s and the Papa’s.

Okay, I’ve said about a few songs here that ‘I love this’ or ‘that’s my favorite,’ etc., but I have to tell you, #California Dreamin’ would be on the soundtrack of my life, that’s how much I love, LOVE this song- it immediately makes me feel good. Everything from the haunting opening with the guitar to the melodies and that rich, soulful tone in their voices and harmonies.These guys were so ahead of their time, even some of today’s best music doesn’t come close to the genius of the 60’s.

“Haven’s Happenstance: The Soothing Oldies Series:” There are no sad songs, really, only the way we feel when we seek certain songs to soothe our soul. This week as this ‘Love-Starved’ feeling continues, I bring you “The Soothing Oldies Series,” because for me every time I hear a good diddy from the 50’s or 60’s, well, I feel like I’m getting a soothing hug from an old friend.
