Taking in the smooth, sexy sounds of Smokey Robinson at The Hollywood Bowl, mmmmm xo
Today’s “Haven’s Happenstance” #song - “The Soothing Oldies Series:” “The Tracks Of My Tears” by The Miracles.
The Track Of My Tears from the mid-60’s hits a special chord with me, as I sometimes feel that I’m making such a concerted effort to have an upbeat, optimistic outlook on life, and especially LOVE life… given all that’s going on right now. I’ve said it before and will keep saying it: I believe in love. And I know I will find it again. I am, alas, a hopeful romantic, but a romantic in every sense of the word. I love love and I love to love, I love making someone feel special, and it’s the sweetest when it’s given right back. Blowing you a big kiss! Take it away fabulous Smokey Robinson and The Miracles.
“People say I’m the life of the party
‘Cause I tell a joke or two
Although I might be laughin’ loud and hearty
Deep inside I’m blue
So take a good look at my face
You’ll see my smile looks out of place
If you look closer it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears…”
“Haven’s Happenstance: The Soothing Oldies Series:” There are no sad songs, really, only the way we feel when we seek certain songs to soothe our soul. This week as this ‘Love-Starved’ feeling continues, I bring you “The Soothing Oldies Series,” because for me every time I hear a good diddy from the 50’s or 60’s, well, I feel like I’m getting a soothing hug from an old friend.
